Patras Carnival 2014 is ready to begin, as the municipality of Patras is working hard on the Opening Ceremony which is going to take place on Saturday 18 January 2014 in the city centre of Patras.
During the opening ceremony, the city centre will become full of celebrations and fun while actors, singers and road shows, are going to give the city the great rythm of Carnival. At night, Patras Mayor Mr. Yiannis Dimaras is going to announce the official beggining of celebrations, followed by a famous youth band concert and great fireworks.
As from then, the city will begin living in carnival rythm, while lots of carnival celebrations are going to be organized like, the hidden treasure game, bourbouria balls, children carnival parade and shows and more events.
The big carnival parades are going to take place on the last weekend of Patras Carnival (1 and 2 March 2014) when the city of Patras will become full of visitors, that will come to join the great celebrations.
The closing ceremony will take place the night Sunday 2nd March after the big parade in St. Nicolas pier where the Karnival King is going to be burnt followed by a great show of fireworks.
